Cute House! St. Augusta Lane coming soon under Hayley Tomazik/J.F. Meyer Realty

Driving up to this house you'll be impressed with all the meticulously kept homes on the street.  The house has great hardwood floors and is painted in a neutral color throughout that really adds to the spacious feel of a smaller home.  I was in love with the front door - these days where do you get a door like that?  Great yard!  There's an awesome master bedroom with its own bath too.   I'd say this home is move in ready.

I hope my photos get you out to take a look!

Wow, Hayley's been busy! Here's another fab home located at 5819 Walsh. You'll find this house located on a beautiful street. There's a modern kitchen and when you combine it with the feel of the existing rooms you've got one great house. Checkout the gorgeous fireplace.  The backyard is also a great entertaining space!

Sneak Peek

Last week I had the opportunity to work for NYC based Society Social.  They are soon showcasing a young woman's Webster Groves apartment that she furnished with several Society Social pieces.  It's so great to get to work for a vibrant and fun company.

Armed with a shot list and all my gear I walked into a lovely apartment that was just as fun loving and full of style and flair as Society Social.  I thought for now I'd share a couple of photos.  Stay tuned for when I can share the on-line feature.

Recent Photography for 2212 Yale

I've put together another collage of photos from a property in Maplewood that's coming soon to the market by  Hayley Tomazik/J.F. Meyer Realty.  This home has an upbeat feel with a mix of glam elements.  There are  two cool leaded glass insets on either side of an archway  that separates the dining room and living room.  Plus check out the modern light fixtures and french doors in the dining room!

Urban House - Tower Grove South

Here are  a few images from a photo shoot for Hayley Tomazik/J.F. Meyer Realty.    The house is located at 2504 S. Spring.   This is a good combination of old and new.  The main level is open with lots of light.  I think there are a good number of walls with the potential to show off art collections.  The neighborhood has a good urban feel. The light colored walls would work well with multiple furniture styles.

Make your Images Better with Basic Styling

Photo: Karen Palmer

There's a lot of advice out there on styling homes for photo shoots. I've mentioned in previous articles the importance of decluttering and cleaning.  I've also mentioned how a well placed plant or flower arrangement can soften a room and make it more inviting.

One of my favorite architectural photographers David Duncan Livingston has a good summary for photo styling.  He says:

"At the “simplest” level and the quickest way to style a room for photography, is to make the room clean and tidy: fluff pillows, straighten drapes, clean surfaces. Next, edit and de-clutter.  Our homes become little stash pads for too many things; remove piles and organize collections. Then to keep the styling simple, work with what you have in the home: move a vase or a bowl, stack some great books. Go outside and add some foliage to the vase, pick some lemons for the bowl. Living things bring life to the room and the photography."
